Joan Miró. Original drawing of a dancing bird in blue ball point pen in the artist's surreal style on a page of the artist's own letterhead with his address in Palma de Mallorca. Flamboyantly signed 'Miró' with dedication inscribed by the artist 'con un cordial saludo [with kind regards]'. Dated 31st July 1979. Accompanying original envelope is addressed to Mr. Anthony Wray of Southport. The page measures 8.25"x11.75". Mounted, framed and glazed, overall 13"x16". Light horizontal folds, otherwise in very good condition

Joan Miró i Ferrà was a Spanish painter, sculptor and ceramicist, born in 1893 in Barcelona. His worked gained international acclaim and he become one of Spain's most celebrated artists, his works acknowledged as iconic images of the Surrealist Movement. He died in Majorca in 1983 aged ninety
