The page with handwritten title, 'Southampton F.C. 3rd Visit' and the players' signatures laid out in the team formation. Signatures are Scriven, Thomas, Adams, Woodhouse, Bradford, Luckett, Neal, Brewis, McIlwane, Sillett, Arnold, Charlton, and Lee (trainer). To the verso are signatures of club officials and T. Crew who refereed the 1930 F.A. Cup Final, who writes that he was 'one of the first residents [of the hotel] Xmas 1928'. Gilt to page edges. The page with handwritten title, '9th Visit. Southampton F.C. v Notts County' and the players' signatures laid out in the team formation. Signatures are Scriven, Sillett, McIlwane, Roberts, King, Woodhouse, Neal, Tully, Cole, Wheeler, Luckett, Holt, Lee (trainer) also two directors and the club Secretary, G. Goss. To the verso is a handwritten dedication nicely signed by Arthur Askey, 'The tidiest man in the hotel', who spent nine weeks at the hotel for the 1934/35 pantomime, 'Babes in the Wood' in which he performed at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham. Mavin (Manager) etc. To the verso are two signed handwritten dedications including one from a director of the club thanking the landlord for providing 'eggs and bacon at 1.15 at night...
