Rare original silk scorecard for the match played at Edgbaston, 7th-9th May 1896 in which Yorkshire made 887 in their only innings, a record that still stands in county cricket. The scorecard shows the Yorkshire innings with 'runs as scored' for each batsman with notable innings by F.S. Jackson (117), Moorhouse (72), Wainwright (126), Peel (210no) and Lord Hawke (166) and Hirst (85). Framed and glazed overall 6.5"x10". Very good condition

In compiling their innings Yorkshire batted through to the end of the second day's play, with Warwickshire bowling a total of 274.3 five ball overs. Needing to bowl out Warwickshire twice on the third and final day, in Warwickshire's first innings George Hirst achieved his best bowling figures to date of 40.1 overs, 16 maidens, eight wickets for 59 runs, a record he surpassed in 1910 when he took nine wickets in an innings against Lancashire. 'Biggest Test Victory on Record'. 'Hutton's match'. England v Australia 1938. Official scorecard for the 'timeless' fifth Test at The Oval, 20th-24th August 1938 in which Hutton made the then record individual score of 364no, in England's record score of 903-7 dec. England won by an innings and 579 runs. The scorecard with complete printed scores has been very nicely signed in ink by ten members of the England team. Signatures are Hammond, Hardstaff, Hutton, Paynter, Bowes, Leyland, Wood, Verity, Compton and Edrich, lacking the signature of Farnes. Rare in this signed form. Unusually to the lower border of the scorecard are the 'Scores from other Grounds' giving a listing of scores from the other seven matches being played on the 20th August. The title is in the form of a news cutting laid down to the top edge. Mounted framed and glazed, overall 8.5"x13". Very good condition

Unusually to the lower border of the scorecard are the 'Scores from other Grounds' giving a listing of scores from the other seven matches being played on the 20th August. Covers are issued from all eighteen first-class counties, also Cricket Memorabilia Society, M.C.C., Thomas Lord etc. Includes a 'Kent v Lancashire at Canterbury 1906' Benham Silk signed by Peter Richardson, John Shepherd, Bob Woolmer and Mike Denness. Also a cover signed by Tim Munton. Very good condition
