The following three shirts worn by players in International matches were obtained by the late R. Paul Russell, former chairman of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, first class rugby union referee, an accomplished rugby referee, who officiating in national club and the odd international representative match in the 1970's and 1980's, he was also an excellent after dinner speaker and raconteur. He knew many of the players from that period and was often gifted shirts by them, sometimes even buying shirts at a charity dinner/auction at which he spoke to support the beneficiary

He also played Rugby League for Leeds and Salford between 1990-1996 and made fourteen appearances for the Welsh rugby league team. British Lions rugby tour shirt worn by David Young on the tour. The red shirt, by Adidas, with embroidered Lions emblem and 'Adidas' and 'NTL' sponsors logo's to chest and large number '3' to back of shirt. Young's initial's to label. The shirt signed by all thirty eight members of the touring party to the front of the shirt. The shirt is attractively mounted, framed and glazed with handwritten details of the shirt to the lower mount. Sold with a letter of provenance from Young. Overall 29"x42". Very good condition

Young is the only player to have toured with the Lions in three separate decades. He toured Australia in 1989 playing three Tests, in South Africa in 1997 and to Australia, again in 2001. Young played in many of the tour matches but was not selected for any of the three Tests against Australia. Australia winning the Test series by two tests to one
