Archery 1879. An excellent selection of thirteen original sepia photographs of archery teams, matches in progress, presentations etc. Two photographs are laid down to album pages with participants' names and titles handwritten in ink to lower margin, taken at the 'Grand National Cheltenham 1879' held at Cheltenham College. The two teams featured are West Kent Archers and Royal Toxophilites. The photographs were originally from the photograph album of Inger Maria Burton of Lincoln, artist and photographer. Various sizes, approx. 8"x6". Some creasing and ageing, otherwise in generally good condition
